Thoughts on journals...

I have never been the kind of person to keep a journal.  As a kid, I couldn't be bothered to take the time, there was too much to do.  As an adult I decided that there was no reason to because who would ever want to read it? Also, I still couldn't be bothered to take the time!

That feeling changed last week, when one of my 5th grade students gave me this journal.  She decorated it with some of the things that I will see while in London.  She took the time to write a beautiful message to me.  This gift has inspired me.  I can't wait to take it on this journey and begin filling its pages.

This journal will be a keepsake for the rest of my life.  Something I can turn to when I want to re-live a once in a lifetime experience.  I am looking forward to writing about my experiences as I travel, something that never would have happened if not for this thoughtful student.
